CD Review By: Zach Nelson (MissoulaLive)
Britt Arnesen also known as 907Britt when it comes to the music industry recently completed and released her second full length album called Middle of the Rainbow. Produced by friend and Missoula music man Richie Reinholdt, who also contributed to the band on the CD playing guitar, mandolin, banjo, and back-up vocals, the album is complete traditional pop- folk lyrical storytelling at its finest.
Right from the start with the opening track “Barnacle Rock Road” be prepared to be slightly thrown off hearing Britt’s vocals, which sound like the vocals of a princess from a cartoon fairytale with the ultimate unique originality, but just give it time and it will have you captivated just as most Disney movies do. The 13 track album is like a bluegrass folk musical journal that has been written in by people all telling stories of passionate moments, sad moments, happy moments or just any moment they have remembered forever. Songs such as “Man on My Moon”,“ Paint the Night and “No Kind of Angel” speak in volumes of love and passion along with mellow soothing instrumental acoustics. “The Painting” which I consider the most complete and top song on the album catches you day dreaming multiple times throughout with a combination of Britt’s voice, the poetry type lyrics, and a mix of string instruments that will put you a state of Zen . Finish it off with the more past time songs such as “Captain Harris” and “Getting the Paper” where the stories pertain to a certain person and his/her life and the things that are accomplished, and just like that you have yourself a well written all-around musical treat.
Middle of the Rainbow is an album for all ages that can be truly enjoyed sitting down and relaxing, and for being created in Missoula, MT I find it perfectly fitting and representing. The Middle of the Rainbow has never seemed safer yet still adventurous with a hidden pot of gold. Well done 907Britt, well done.
